June Newsletter

As leaners and teachers return to classes this week after a well-deserved break, we look back at the first half of 2025 in appreciation of all their accomplishments and shared some of their success in our June Newsletter. Read more articles online at www.jankriel.com or download and share the PDF document with friends and family.

During the June examination, 2133 papers in the High School and 422 papers in the Primary School are transcribed for Jan Kriel learners. The scribe will read the paper to the learner, exactly as the paper is printed, and then writes down the learner's answer verbatim. He/she may not give any explanation, answer any questions and have no influence on the learner's mood.

For each of these papers, this means that one scribe and one learner must be accommodated alone in a separate room for the duration of that paper: 2555 times in the 4-week examination period! And this is just one of many “assessment accommodations” at Jan Kriel that make schooling and writing exams possible for our learners. With this help, a context is created for learners with special educational needs where each one can realize his/her own potential. And our donors make this possible.
