The Jan Kriel Institute, in support of learners of Jan Kriel School, hosts their Tree Lighting ceremony every year. 

This year the 'Liggieboom'-festival took place on Saturday, 25 November. More than 600 supporters came to watch learners perform and party with Desmond Wells. Primary school learners gave a dance performance worthy of a Webb Ellis and the more than 40-piece strong choir sang beautifully. And of course the highlight of the evening - the switching on of the 'Liggieboom' with more than 10,000 lights!

 

Every light on the tree is sponsored by friends and donors of Jan Kriel. "Every year we are surprised with the support our learners receive", says Rev. Andre van Wyk of Jan Kriel Institute. Lights can still be sponsored throughout the festive period.
