Our Grade 12 learners had the incredible opportunity to attend a dynamic and enriching Examination Readiness Workshop, aimed at equipping them with the tools, strategies, and mindset needed to approach the upcoming June examinations with confidence and purpose.

The workshop created a space for reflection, growth, and motivation as learners engaged with key focus areas, including:

- Reflecting and resetting after Term 1.

- Understanding the Jan Kriel School Matric Success Thermometer.

- Challenging unrealistic expectations and redefining personal success.

- Prioritising emotional well-being by addressing procrastination and managing exam stress.

- Developing a growth mindset over a fixed mindset.

- Exploring post-school destinations and understanding why the June examinations matter.

- A physical reset through an energising Zumba session.

This holistic programme ensured that our learners were supported not only academically, but also emotionally and physically - reinforcing our commitment to developing well-rounded individuals.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our special guests who added immense value to the workshop:

- Abigail Kok (2025 Top NSC learner in the country), who inspired our learners through a powerful motivational video.

- Takunda Muchuweni (JKS Alumnus & 2025 Top LSEN learner in the country), who shared practical and relatable academic tips.

- Mr Jevonn Cloete (Deputy Principal of Rusthof LSEN School), who brought energy and enthusiasm to the day, ending the programme on a high note with three fun-filled rounds of Zumba.

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff who played a vital role in the success of this initiative:

Mr Justin Pretorius (Programme Lead), Mrs Jeanne-Marie de Villiers (School Psychologist), Ms Charlene van Schalkwyk (Afrikaans Teacher), Ms Lauren Walford (Intern Psychologist), and our class assistants and support staff: Tannie Sonia, Tannie Marianne, Tannie Rowena, Anthea, Verona, Jamie-Lee, Asivile, Mishke, and Jeandre.

Your commitment to our learners’ success does not go unnoticed.

We also extend our appreciation to our valued partners, PNA Haasendaal, for generously sponsoring stationery for our Grade 12 learners, and Capitec, for providing the My Next magazines, assisting our learners in exploring future career and study opportunities.

As we journey towards the June examinations, we are confident that our krielies are not only better prepared academically, but also empowered with the resilience, mindset, and determination needed to succeed.
