In a league of their own!

Table Cricket originated in London, designed as an adapted, inclusive form of cricket for learners with physical disabilities. Each team consists of 7 players (6 active and 1 reserve).

Jan Kriel School started with Table Cricket as a sport last year and this is the team's first year playing in the league. Participation has grown steadily, with mostly physically disabled learners forming our team. Learners have already shown great enthusiasm, and this year they competed in the league matches run by Sporting Chance, a non-profit organization that coordinates the Western Cape Table Cricket League.

Jan Kriel Team 2025: Zinray Buis, Chase Winshaw, Brendan Jantjies, Rechardt Koster, Anel Oosthuizen, Junade Langenhoven, Mbali Ntlokoma, and Shaphiro Konstabel. Reserves who assisted during the season: Elihle Mcoseli, Aso Monwabise, and Diego Saal.

Supported by staff and parents Jan Kriel placed 2nd overall in the 2025 league, winning 4 out of 7 matches. This is a fantastic achievement in such a short space of time and we are proud of the dedication shown by our players. The season will conclude at the Table Cricket Festival on 27 November 2025, where teams from across the province will come together for the finals and a celebration of this inclusive sport.

Wishing everyone involved the best of luck!
